Bespoke Computer Assembly Services in the Toronto GTA

What’s the Difference Between an Occasional DIYer and a Professional?

An occasional DIYer can often get the job done—assembling a PC, managing cables, adjusting fan curves, fine-tuning speeds and setup, installing the operating system and drivers, updating the BIOS, running performance tests, checking temperatures, and more. However, a professional brings years of experience to the table. Over time, a professional has encountered nearly every problem imaginable and knows how to address those they haven’t encountered before.

This extensive experience covers:

  • Flashing BIOSes that don’t support the newest processors
  • Getting old OS installs to boot with new equipment
  • Troubleshooting machines that won’t POST (Power-On Self-Test) at all, even with brand new and flawless hardware
  • Setting the correct XMP DDR5 memory profiles for maximum speed, which is sometimes less than what you paid for!
  • Finding out why fans aren’t spinning when they should and why idle temps are higher than normal under-load temps
  • Adjusting cases that have been slightly bent during shipping
  • Realigning panels that don’t fit correctly
  • Replacing faulty wiring connections
  • Finding workarounds for systems that don’t boot consistently or boot slowly

With over 32 years of experience, we’ve tackled a wide range of challenges. While we won’t claim to have seen it all (there’s always something new and interesting!), we have the expertise to handle difficult, inconsistent, and problematic issues effectively.

Another consideration is that you might not have the time to assemble a PC yourself and would prefer to leave it to the professionals. Many of our clients are excited about selecting their parts, but their time to assemble the PC is often absorbed by work, school, family, or all of the above. We handle these assemblies efficiently so you can focus on other priorities.

We might not be the cheapest option, but do you want the least expensive service handling your $18,000 AMD Threadripper or your $4,000 custom PC that you’ve meticulously designed? Probably not. That’s where we come in. Our pricing starts at a minimum of $600 plus tax for basic entry-level PCs. For more advanced builds, we charge approximately 20% of the total cost of the new parts. For example, a $4,000 air or AIO-cooled build would be around $800, while a $15,000 Threadripper build would be about $3,000.

While these rates may seem high, keep in mind that many of our high-end PCs require one to two days on the bench. We charge $199 per hour for our meticulous work. Custom water loops and other time-consuming installations are priced separately, but we can accommodate them. Basic PCs take a few hours to complete, including OS installation, BIOS updates, driver installs, and testing.

Please note: We do not provide warranty or tech support for these services. For warranty and support, please contact the retailers, manufacturers, or forums where you purchased the parts. We offer a 30-day warranty on assembly, excluding issues related to component choices, which can occasionally arise. Paid support is available if needed and if we can assist.
