⚙️ Processor (CPU) – Clock Speed for Brush Responsiveness

ZBrush is single-threaded, making clock speed the most critical factor for brush responsiveness, mesh manipulation, and viewport updates.

• AMD Ryzen 9000 Series

These CPUs offer high single-core speeds to keep your sculpting smooth and responsive, even with dense meshes and multiple subtools.

Graphics Card (GPU) – Less Critical, but Still Important

ZBrush does not heavily use the GPU for sculpting but does rely on it for real-time rendering within ZBrush’s viewport (when using the Redshift Bridge or rendering plugins) and for maintaining stable display performance.

Recommended GPU:

• NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti / 5070 (ample for ZBrush workflows)

• RTX 5080 (if also using GPU renderers or large screens)

Memory (RAM) – Critical for High-Poly Workflows

ZBrush can handle extremely high polygon counts, but your RAM will limit how far you can push your projects before performance drops or crashes occur.

Recommended RAM:

• Minimum: 32GB

• Ideal for most sculptors: 64GB

• Heavy users (massive meshes, multi-subtools, multitasking): 128GB+

More RAM allows you to work on detailed meshes comfortably while having reference images, browsers, and other apps open.

Storage (Drives) – Fast Saves and Loads

ZBrush project files can become large, especially when saving with high poly counts and multiple subtools.

Recommended setup:

• Primary Drive: 1TB–2TB NVMe SSD for OS, ZBrush, and active projects

• Optional: Secondary NVMe SSD for reference libraries and render outputs

• Archive: High-capacity HDD or NAS for completed projects
