In 1947, computer pioneer Grace Hopper and her team were troubleshooting the Harvard Mark II computer when they discovered the problem: a real moth stuck in a relay. They taped the insect into their logbook with the note “First actual case of bug being found.” That’s how the term “computer bug” became a part of tech history. Today, we use “bug” to describe software glitches — but the original bug? A tiny moth with a big legacy.
