We’re over here setting up a Christmas tree, and I have to say, there’s something about stringing up lights and trying to get the star to stay straight that reminds me a lot of running a small business. It’s never perfect, it’s never exactly the way you pictured it, but you keep stepping back, adjusting, fixing, and trying again until it feels right.
Small businesses don’t have it easy, especially these days. But we show up anyway. We help each other, we lean on each other, and somehow we find a way to keep the lights on, literally and figuratively.
So as this tree goes up, crooked branches and all, it feels like a reminder that “hanging in there” isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about showing up. It’s about community. It’s about that little spark of hope that keeps us trying again tomorrow.
