Well, Phase 3 arrives today in the outskirts of Toronto, so for many that means back to work for the first time in ages. It’s almost hard to believe that some of us have been away from work since March when Doug Ford ordered all non-essential business to close — while some of us were declared essential or able to continue to work remotely, other businesses just shut down completely. So sad to see so many businesses close!
Now that Phase 3 of the re-opening is here, or coming soon to Toronto, what does your workplace look like? How should you approach being back at work? Some problems can be expected for sure, and we can help solve a few of them.
Computers at the office have been powered-off and not doing updates, meanwhile, Microsoft released a major system update in that same interval... so now a lot of machines that are just starting-up for the first time are failing to install this update. If your employees are returning to the office to discover that their workstations aren't working, it might be time to call in professional help.
Get your critical OS Updates applied
Get Antivirus updates and license renewals squared away
Apply any recent network security updates
Ensure wireless passwords are changed/updated (if some employees will not be returning)
Verify that VPN and remote apps are working so team members still at home can join in seamlessly
