1 in 5 people in Canada will experience a mental health problem or illness this year. However, this number only includes those who have been formally diagnosed and doesn’t take into account those who suffer from mental illness but are falling through the cracks of a still-problematic system.
That could be a coworker, friend, or even a family member. And most of the time you may not even know, because speaking out about depression, anxiety or any other kind of mental illness is still highly stigmatized and misunderstood.
It’s time to end this, now.
Don’t be afraid to speak out and don’t be afraid to ask if you think someone needs your help, because ILLNESS only becomes WELLNESS when I changes to We.
